Satan wants to bring hell to you and your neighbors' doorstep physically, spiritually, and eternally.
Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Tim 6:12-16)
MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE ETERNAL
• Behold, the LORD'S hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. (Isa 59:1-2)
• These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. (Matt 25:46)
• And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation. (Heb 5:9)
Jesus Saves
• The gospel accounts record the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
• Jesus had authority on earth to forgive sins. (See Mark 2:1-12, Luke 23:39-43)
• The New Covenant began with Christ's death on the cross. (See Heb 9:16-17)
• The book of Acts and the epistles record the terms of salvation under the New Covenant.
Believe
• "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved..." And they spoke the word of the Lord to him... And immediately he was baptized... (Acts 16:29-34)
Repent
• "Brethren, what shall we do?" Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:36-39)
Confess
• Philip... preached Jesus to him. As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." And they both went down into the water, and he baptized him. (Acts 8:34-39)
Be Baptized
• "Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name." (Acts 22:16)
The false brethren try to make the Scripture contradict itself. They pick and choose which Scriptures they think we should go by, and try to throw out the ones they don't like.
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead... preach the word; reprove, rebuke, exhort... For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. (2 Tim 3:16-4:4)
Were not here to tickle anybody's ears. We want to overthrow the false brethren by bringing people to the knowledge of the truth. It's only going to happen if we throw off the uninspired words of men and go only by the inspired Word of God.
