Self-Control
If there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. (Rom 13:9-10)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Gal 5:22-23)
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city. (Prov 16:32)
In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. (Matt 7:12)
Personal Responsibility
Do all things without grumbling or disputing. (Phil 2:14)
Consider it all joy when you encounter various trials. (James 1:2)
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men. (Col 3:23)
If anyone will not work, then he is not to eat, either. (2 Thess 3:10)
If we have food and covering we shall be content. (1 Tim 6:8)
Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another. (Rom 13:8)
Flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. (2 Tim 2:22)
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. (Eph 5:15-16)
